Galerie Urs Meile is pleased to announce Li Gang's latest solo exhibition Fictional Symbol at Galerie Forsblom, the exhibition will be launched on October 12, and continues through November 12.

李钢着迷于将不相干的元素融合在一起并在其间激发出不确定的动态。其作品内在的张力源于相对立的材料的反差：合成的与有机的，世俗的与脱俗的。

Li Gang is fasicnated with the process of combining disparate elements and invoking a dynamic of uncertainty between them. The inherent tension built into his art is born from contrasts between opposing materials: the synthetic and the organic, the mundane and the sublime.

本次展览中将展出轻快的装置作品，由玉镯和工业用的钢筋制作而成。此外，还将展出一系列手工布面油画。李钢一直以来都在探寻新的方式以新奇而出人意料的视角去再现我们所熟悉的环境。通过对诸多媒介的融合，艺术家得以将其作品一直保持着持续的流动变迁状态，这也构成了其创作的首要主题。

The airy installations featured in the exhibition fuse together precious jade and industrial rebar used for reinforcing concrete. Featured alongside these sculptures is a selection of oil paintings on hand-made canvas. Li Gang is always looking for new ways of presenting familiar environments in a fresh, surprising light. By combining a variety of media, the artist keeps his work in a constant state of flux, which forms an overarching theme in his oeuvre.
